Summary[edit]
Description"Art of Flight" informational display.jpg |
English: "The Art of Flight" by George Snow Hill is a series of seven oil-on-canvas murals created in 1939 under the Federal Arts Project of the Works Progress Administration for Peter O. Knight Airport in Tampa, Florida. There the murals were displayed by adhering them directly to the concrete walls. When the airport was demolished in 1965, the murals were put into storage. The mildewed and moldy murals were restored by James Swope Fine Arts Restoration, and are now displayed at Tampa International Airport, Airside E – which was built with the display of the murals in mind – along with an informational display.
